Mediterranean breadsticks ISTEPbySTEP

How to perfume my home? Essences, flowers, perfumes? Oh, no! I prefer bread aroma 🙂

Summer won’t be over if you try these crunchy breadsticks, thanks to olives and oregano you’ll feel like in summertime.

INGREDIENTS

7 oz all-purpose flour

250 semolina

1 teaspoon brewer’s yeast, dry

1 tablespoon malt (or honey)

2 glasses lukewarm water

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

salt to taste

2 tablespoons olives, sliced

2 tablespoons oregano

 

All-purpose flour to taste

 

 

STEP 1: MAKE THE DOUGH

Place in a bowl  the first 9 ingredients. Mix well with a fork, then knead by hand. Cover the dough  with clingfilm  and let it rise at room temperature for two hours.

 

STEP 2: CUT THE BREADSTICKS

Place the dough on a lightly floured pastry board and roll it out with a rolling pin to get a rectangle 1 cm thin. Slice the dough with a knife ab 1 cm.

 

STEP 3: PLACE BREADSTICKS INTO BAKING TIN

Place the breadsticks into a baking tin coverd with parchment paper.

 

STEP 4: COOK

Cook breadsticks in preheated oven at 180° for about 30 minutes.

A PIECE OF ADVICE: if you use honey insted of  malt make sure to add salt enough to the dough.
